Netflix has debuted a slightly longer look at one of The Witcher’s fight scenes, showcasing certain characters and some impressive sword-fighting choreography from Henry Cavill.

The fight appears to be from a scene featuring Queen Calanthe, the grandmother of Ciri, and the banquet she throws to determine a suitor for the 15-year-old Pavetta, Ciri’s mother. Fans of the books will recognize the individual with a hedgehog’s head as a key player in Witcher lore, and it looks like the character gets his own swings in during the fight.

It’s a brief, but meaningful look at just how action might be handled in the show. That said, since it’s from a social media post, it’s possible that the final cut will be more graphic than the relatively bloodless altercation we see here.

If you’re eager to hear more about Netflix’s The Witcher, the early fan reactions on Twitter are pretty hot.

You can also read about how the video game version of Geralt inspired Henry Cavill’s gravelly voice in the TV series.

If hearing that the show will take more influence from the original Witcher novels than the games, make sure to check out our Witcher reading guide, which will show you just what to look out for while making your way through the books.

Netflix’s The Witcher is out on December 20, and has already been renewed for a second season. That’s good news, considering showrunner Lauren Hissrich has seven seasons worth of story planned out.
